Straight answers from the works

Ramon Honed Tubes & Peeled Bars · Bilaspur, Gurugram

Q1Why do you peel and grind in-house instead of buying and reselling?

Because the finish is the product. Peeling, grinding, straightening and cutting all run at our works in Bilaspur, so size, roundness and straightness are controlled by us rather than chased across suppliers. Honed tubes are imported, and they leave here checked against the same drawing you sent us.

Q2What should I decide first when ordering honed tube?

The bore. It is the surface the seal runs on, so fix the bore diameter and the H8 tolerance first, then choose the outside diameter and wall for your cylinder design. The bore finder on this site shows the standard outside diameters for each bore.

Q3Peeled bar or ground bar?

Choose peeled if you machine the bar afterwards. Choose ground if the bar's surface is the finished surface, as on a cylinder rod. Ground bar is held to f7, f8, h8 or h9 with a finish of about 0.1 to 0.4 Ra.

Q4Can you chrome plate or induction harden?

Yes, both to order. Chrome plating from 20 to 200 microns per side, and induction hardening up to 65 HRC in a depth of 2 to 5 mm per side. Tell us the finished size and we work back from it.

Q5What do I send to get a quote?

The bore, the outside diameter, the length and the quantity. You get a price and a delivery date back. A drawing helps but is not needed to start.

Bought from us?

We would rather show real words than invented ones. Send two or three lines about your order, with your name and company, and with your permission we will publish them exactly as you wrote them.
